Jaffrey Grade School, School Street. The old grade school was built in 1893 at a cost of $8,704. Its design was an eclectic mix of Colonial Revival and the Shingle style that was especially popular for seaside summer homes. It served the town’s needs until 1938 when it was replaced by the present building, designed by Wells, Hudson and Granger of Hanover. Dedicated on September 16, 1938, its total cost was $123,335. 1903 or later. From Jaffrey Then & Now, 1994.
